Paintings worth 8.4 million euros were brought from Denmark early in September for an exhibition in Lithuania, BTA, the insurer of the artworks, said in a press release on Friday.

Forty-four paintings, the most expensive of which costs 800,000 euros, will be on display at Vytautas Kasiulis Art Museum in Vilnius starting from September 30.

Paintings for the exhibition “Awakening of Nations. The Golden Age of Danish Painting” have been lent by the National Gallery of Denmark.

The exhibition will be opened by Princess Mary of Denmark on September 30.

Artworks will be on display until November 7.

The exhibition has been organized by the Lithuanian National Museum of Art and the National Gallery of Denmark.
