2.4. Aircraft piloting integrated studies
Antanas Gustaitis Aviation Institute in VGTU is offering Integrated (5 year) studies in Aircraft Piloting programme completely in English language. Detailed programme curricula you can find in here.
The study programme offers specific practical training using aircrafts, simulators and other aviation equipment in Flight Training and Air Traffic Control units, Aviation Engineering Practical Training Depot and Aviation Specialists‘ Qualification improvement Centre.
 
All applicants should be under 26 years old.
There are two entrance tests for Aircraft piloting programme:
Professional assessment test;
Physical fitness test.
 
2.4.1. Assessment test
Dates of the test: 2019-06-17 - 2019-07-08, 2019-07-11 – 2019-07-12 registration is necessary.
 
Test is held in three stages:
 
First stage (duration 1 hour 30 minutes)
 
The first stage is to assess operational abilities required for profession (with pencil on paper):
  • “Compasses” and “Clocks” examine spatial orientation - the ability to focus on a plane and in the three-dimensional space;
  • “Scale 1” examines the short-term memory and the ability to quickly calculate;
  • "Device awareness”, “Block computing" and "Rotated blocks” examines spatial orientation/visualization (the ability to create a three-dimensional model of the situation from the available information);
  • "Hidden figures” examines the attention allocation;
  • “The information in the table” examines information perception and attention allocation.
 
Second stage (duration 2 hours 30 minutes)
 
Applicants carry out three individual tests:
  • MMPI methodology to diagnose personality characteristics and deviations from the norm;
  • Holland Methodology - to assess adequacy of career choices and fitness for the profession;
  • Kraepelin methodology – to assess mental productivity and focus variations.
In the third stage (duration 1 hour) candidates participate in three individual interviews with each of the members of the enrolment commission. These interviews assess individual personality characteristics.
 
2.4.2. Physical fitness test
The test consists of three athletic tasks:                                
 
For males – 100 metre run, 3000 metre run, pull-ups.
 
For females – 100 metre run, 2000 metre run, crunches.
 
2.4.3. Medical examination
Each entrant must undergo a medical examination. Medical examination is carried out by the Aeromedical Centres’ civil aviation medical experts (CAGEK). JAR-FCL First class health certificates are issued by Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).

2.4.5. Study programme
The programme includes:
  • 14 ATPL (Airline Transport Pilot License) courses
  • 215 hours of aircraft piloting training;
  • 55 hours on the simulator FNPT II MCC.
All AGAI’s theoretical and practical training activities meet the standard requirements of international aviation organizations ICAO and EASA as certified by Lithuanian Civil Aviation Administration.
 
Our students acquire:
  • Master’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering
  • ATPL license issued by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).
Aircrafts for training: Cessna 152, Cessna 172, Cessna 172S, Piper Pa-34-220T;
 
Helicopters: Cabri G2
 
Flight simulator: FNPT II MCC for aircrafts Cessna 172, Piper Seneca, Beachcraft King Air 200 and not certified FNPT type Boeing 737;
 
Training aerodrome: Kyviškės aerodrome (20 km outside of Vilnius).
 
2.4.6. After studies
After a five-year Aircraft Piloting degree programme, the student receives Master's degree in Aeronautical Engineering.
 
A graduate of the programme is also prepared for ATPL - Airline Transport Pilot Licence. The license is issued by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). To obtain the licence the student has to complete ATPL programme and take exams at CAA.  With the license student can go to a specific employer and train on the particular aircraft type.

3. Admission
3.1. Bachelor programme
  • Secondary School Graduation Certificate with good results, particularly in mathematics, physics, and English. Applications must be accompanied by legalized English translations of all transcripts. Unofficial copies are not accepted. Please check country specific requirementsfor detailed information (Iran not found).
  • English language proficiency.
IELTS (International English Language Testing System) academic: 5.5
FCE (First Certificate in English): A
CAE (Certificate in Advanced English): C
CPE (Certificate of Proficiency in English): C
TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign language) paper based: 510, internet based: 70, computer based: 180. The TOEFL institutional code is 6529. 
B2 Certificate in English
  • No entrance examinations (except for Architecture and Aircraft Piloting programme) for foreigners are needed.
  • For Architecture programme, entrance test is required.
  • For Aircraft Piloting two entrance testsand First class medical certificate is requered.
3.2. Master programme
  • Bachelor's degree or its equivalent (official transcripts required) with grades. Please check country specific requirementsfor detailed information (Iran not found).
  • Two references.
  • Acceptance by the Dean’s Office of the chosen faculty.
  • Students motivation for specific programme. 
3.3. PHD programme
  • MSc degree or its equivalent (official transcripts required).
  • Achievement of good results in research.
  • Evaluation of diploma from Centre for Quality Assessment in Higher Education (www.skvc.lt).
  • Scientist’s recommendations.
  • Acceptance by the Dean’s Office of the chosen faculty.
4. How to apply
  • A candidate fills in the Application form in the application system.
  • Pays 100 EUR Application fee according to the invoice issued by the application system, the fee must be paid until the invoice deadline but no later than application deadline. 
  • International Studies Centre reviews your documents and sends you an official letter confirming your admission to the study programme of your choice.
  • A candidate, after receiving the official confirmation letter, sends us the Tuition fee for the first year of  studies and Registration fee as well.
  • International Studies Centre, after receiving the fee, prepares documents necessary for visa application and sends them to the student.
  • A student, after receiving the documents, applies for Lithuanian visa at nearest Lithuanian Embassy.
  • The Lithuanian Embassy initiates the visa issue procedure.
  • After the period of typically 10 to 14 days, the Lithuanian Embassy informs student that his/her visa is issued. (In case the visa application is rejected, ISC refunds the Tuition fee and Registration fee back to student.)
  • A student picks up his/her visa and other documents necessary for his/her entrance to Lithuania.
  • Application deadline is 15th of July for non EU applicants and 1st of August for applicants from EU. 
 
Applications can not be processed unless they include all the following:
 
Documents needed after acceptance:
  • Medical Certificate (including AIDS test);
  • Certificate from a foreign bank and notarized letter of guarantee from parents/sponsors along with a document about their financial abilities (present to Lithuania Embassy).
  • Non conviction/Police Clearance certificate from countries of residence in last two years (needed for TRP application).
 
Note: Legalized and notarized English translation are required for all Education documents.

5. Tuition fee

5.1. Application fee
All applicants have to pay a EUR 100 non-refundable application fee. The fee must accompany the application. The fee can be paid with a Bank draft (international cheque) or transfered directry to Vilnius Gediminas Technical University account.

5.2. Registration fee
Registration fee EUR 200 is paid with the first tuition fee after receiving the official letter of admission.

5.3. Tuition for student outside European Union
Tuition fees are charged to all students, however government loans and scholarships are available depending on the student's citizenship (all EU students can apply for government funding), residency status, unit load, and the level of the programme enrolled in (undergraduate/postgraduate).
 
All non-EU countries first year students are sent an invoice for tuition fee payment prior of visa procedure.
 
Continuing students pay the tuition fees before the beginning of a semester (term) and the payment must be in the University s bank account before September 15 (Fall semester) and February 15 (Spring semester).
 
The following tuition fees for one year in 2018-2019 academic years are set for non-EU students (except for Aircraft Piloting programme):

5.4. REFUND POLICY FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS FEES
If a student's visa is denied or he/she can not come for studies for another important reason a full refund of tuition fees will be made. Evidence of visa denial is required.
